Course Description

This highly regarded course combines core principles to support development of knowledge and expertise in radiation safety management.

This course is appropriate for personnel involved directly in or supervising the transportation of radioactive materials. This course is designed for the purpose of acquiring your licence to transport radioactive material. It is recommended for anyone needing to dispatch, transport or receive radioactive goods.

This course provides you with an LS Licence issued by the Radiological Council for the period of 3 years.

Radiation Professionals is excited to announce its new Working Safely with Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials (NORMS) 1 -day course.

This course is appropriate for Personnel involved in the Oil & Gas industry who may be involved in the planning for, or execution of, work breaking open/cleaning/replacing infrastructure, or the handling of waste materials. The nature of NORM hazards and their control are outlined, in particular how protection can best be afforded using appropriate working techniques, equipment, radiation monitoring, administrative arrangements and legal obligations.

You will receive a NORM certification card on completion of this course.

This highly regarded detailed course combines core principles to support development of knowledge and expertise in radiation safety management. The nature of the hazards are outlined, how protection might best be afforded when working with relevant equipment, appropriate working techniques to minimise exposure, administrative arrangements and associated legal obligations. The course will comprise of lectures on basic physics of radiation (production, interactions with matter, measurements, units), hazards from materials and equipment (acute, chronic), radiation detection and instrumentation, safety procedures (personal hygiene, decontamination, hazard mitigation, reporting, recording) and regulations, working rules etc.

This highly regarded detailed course combines core principles to support development of knowledge and expertise in radiation safety management. The 3 day Radiation Safety Officer course is appropriate for personnel who have a reasonable understanding of the activities carried out on an exploration, mining or processing site and aim to become a Radiation Safety Officer.  This course is a pre-requisite for personnel to begin practical training under a licenced Radiation Safety Officer on the site.
